Koto Chikage Association Member to Instruct Japanese Culture Class at Junior High School
On Friday, November 14, 2025, as part of the annual "Japanese Culture Experience" classes for first-year students at Osaka Municipal Yuhigaoka Junior High School, Kaori Murakami of the Koto Chikage (Soukyoku Chikagenokai) will once again serve as an instructor. Under the curriculum guidelines of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japanese traditional music (Hōgaku) is a required subject in junior high school music classes, with pages dedicated to koto music (Sōkyoku) in textbooks. Instructors from Koto Chikage-no-kai are teaching students about Sōkyoku, which cannot be fully covered through regular music lessons alone.

Koto Chikage, a performing arts production based in Nagoya specializing in inbound tourism, is home to 25 Japanese traditional instrument artists (Koto, Shamisen, Hichiriki, Sho, and others). Since starting our inbound business in March 2025, we have offered a truly authentic Japanese traditional "Omotenashi"(hospitality) experience to tourists visiting Japan. We host workshops and give performances at iconic locations such as Nagoya Castle and the Nagoya Noh Theater. We are delighted to announce that we have already welcomed over 300 visiting tourists to our Japanese traditional culture experience classes, and they have all expressed immense joy.
