We are pleased to announce the luxury experience "Nagoya Castle Premium Concert [Rie Asai’s Mythological Tale]" produced by the world-famous koto artist "Rie Asai". It will bring a new innovation to inbound tourism in Nagoya.
This new service, which will be launched in the spring of 2025 from the "Kujaku-no-Ma" of the Honmaru Palace of Nagoya Castle, one of Japan's three most famous castles, will provide the world with authentic luxury experiences by leading artists of traditional Japanese culture with the theme of "art and sustainability".
Set in the Kujaku-no-Ma of the Honmaru Palace of Nagoya Castle, one of Japan's three most famous castles, the "Amano Iwato" written in the Kojiki will be narrated by Rie Asai and performed with traditional instruments such as not only the koto but also the shamisen, sho, and kagura bells, and will be entirely in English. It is an experience program that allows overseas visitors to enjoy while gaining a deeper understanding of Japanese traditional culture.

This is Japan’s first ever special stage event designed specifically for international guests. Enjoy a unique theatrical performance featuring traditional Japanese musical instruments, the koto, sho, sangen, and kagura bells, accompanied by storytelling. The performance is based on the Japanese myth “Ama no Iwato”a tale that symbolizes happiness and good fortune. You’ll also have the opportunity to interact with the performing artists and try playing the koto and kagura bells yourself. We invite you to an amazing experience!

Act 1 "Heaven's Rock Cave"
This stage weaves together stories from the Kojiki, Japan's oldest book, with Rie Asai's narration and original music. In addition to the koto, you can also enjoy performances on traditional instruments such as the shamisen, sho, and kagura bells.
Act 2 "Prayer for Peace"
Rie Asai, who was officially invited by the Pope and has experience performing at the Vatican, will perform a concert of Japanese soul melodies, including the global hit "Prayer for Peace." During the intermission, there will be a talk session where Rie Asai and other performers will talk about their feelings about Japanese traditions, and there will also be time for discussion with the audience.

Rie Asia is a Koto artist, composer, and a producer.
She began her stage career at the young age of three and has been actively involved in the entertainment industry ever since.
Throughout her career, she has made numerous appearances on various media platforms, including the television program "Hogaku no Hitotoki" on NHK, "Gigel Seizui," produced by Aichi Prefecture, Bayon TV in Cambodia, and the women's pictorial magazine "Fujin Gaho."
As a composer, she has gained international acclaim for her recent hit,"Annei no Inori," which is celebrated as a prayer song. This has led to invitations for performances around the globe. She has had the honor of dedicating hermusic to esteemed venues such as the Basilica of Saint Paul Outside the Walls, St. Stephen's Cathedral (a UNESCO World Heritage site) and Izumo Shrine, among others. To date, she has performed in 15 countries, including the performance at St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna, Austria. Most recently, she has dedicated her music to a peace conference held in Vatican City.
Grand Master of the Ikuta School. Since founding the Chikage no Kai Koto Music Association in 1960, she has been actively performing for over 60 years, both in Japan and internationally, earning high acclaim as a globally recognized koto and shamisen musician. To date, she has performed in 32 countries, including the United States, Latin America, Europe, and various Asian nations.

Shozui Murakami, born in 1986, graduated from Bukkyo University and later specialized in Buddhist studies at the University of Peradeniva in Sri Lanka. He completed his trainin g at a Jodo Shu shurendojo. Deputy head priest of Kenchuji Temple. He performed together with Rie Asai at the official invitation of the Vatican.
Born in 1982 Graduated from Kokugakuin University's Shinto Department. Shinto priest of Wakeoe Shrine. While attending Kokugakuin, she leamed the hichiriki from the Imperial Household Agency musician. She performed together with Rie Asai at Vienna State Opera and Stephansdom:
