【Press Release】Koto Artist Rie Asai and Beauty Expert Mariko Hara Launch a Premium Yet Affordable “Glass Skin Treatment” for Inbound Visitors – Starting August 2025 in Nagoya

Starting in August 2025, a new facial treatment experience — Glass Skin Treatment — will launch in Nagoya for inbound tourists, co-developed by renowned koto artist Rie Asai and beauty specialist Mariko Hara.
Inspired by the voices of many women abroad expressing their admiration for Japanese skin care and beauty, Rie Asai spent five years researching and developing the ideal facial treatment with Mariko Hara. Their goal was to offer a unique, high-quality facial experience accessible to travelers visiting Japan.
The term “Glass Skin” refers to a smooth, luminous, and clear complexion, much like glass. This treatment is designed to support a healthy, radiant skin impression by gently addressing various skin types and conditions. A carefully selected facial pack helps promote a bright and refined look — all at a reasonable price for international visitors.
What is the Glass Skin Treatment?
Glass Skin is defined by smooth texture, clarity, and a natural glow — a look often associated with Japanese beauty.
Through her international performances across 16 countries and social contribution activities in developing regions, Rie Asai has met many women who expressed a desire to experience Japanese-style skincare. In response, she collaborated with Mariko Hara, a seasoned expert in holistic beauty, to develop this original treatment over five years.
The result is a facial experience tailored for the diverse skin needs of overseas guests. The treatment offers a premium-level care that promotes skin clarity and suppleness, while enhancing the skin’s natural glow with a luxurious, thoughtful approach.
The program is also open to men and couples, not just women.
This new service will be part of the cultural experience programs offered by Koto Chikage, an organization based in Nagoya led by Rie Asai.
